TOEFL Courses (iBT)
We have developed the i-Courses TOEFL course on the basis of numerous years of experience and we believe that our course is one of the best tools available to the students who are preparing for the TOEFL test.
After preparing hundreds of students for the TOEFL iBT we have decided to create a course with relevant content and skill-building exercises that cover all question types included in the exam. The structure of our course allows you to choose your own pace and master the language skills you need to succeed on the test day.
We start the course with a brief introduction of the TOEFL iBT and explain the structure and the scoring of the test. During the first day (session) we will ask you to take a mini test in order to establish a base so that you can monitor and compare your progress.
The mini test will consist of:
We allocate the next 7 daysto the Reading section of the test. Each day you will cover one or two question types, e.g. factual information questions, reference questions, prose summary questions, etc. We will provide you with a detailed explanation for each question type and also will give you some tips that will make you feel more confident on the test day. We also will provide an example for each question type, followed by questions and the right answers, and at the end of the session will give you a chance to practice this particular type of question.
Each day we also will be helping you build your Vocabulary by providing you with a list of "TOEFL words" with explanation and synonyms.
On the last day of this week you will take an extended full Reading section test: 5 passages with 12-13 questions each.
During the second week we will continue work with you on the Listening section of the test and will start with a brief discussion about the importance of mastering a critical skill…note-taking! The structure will be similar to the structure of the previous week: each day you will work on one or two question types, we will provide an example, followed by questions and the right answer, and at the end of the session you will practice a particular type of question, e.g. short lecture or conversations followed only by relevant questions, which you will have to answer.
We will continue working with you on building your Vocabulary.
On the last day of the second week you will take an extended full Listening section test: 6 lectures with 6 questions for each lecture and 3 conversations with 5 questions for each conversation.
During the third week we will work with you on improving your Speaking skills. We will keep the same structure as in the previous two weeks and each day during the practice section we will give you the opportunity to respond to either 20 independent or 10 integrated questions and we will provide you with a sample response to each of the questions, which you can compare with your own response.
We will continue providing you with a list of "TOEFL words" with explanation and synonyms and also will continue providing you with tips that we think will be very helpful on the test day.
On the last day of the third week you will take a full Speaking section test, which will consist of 2 independent and 4 integrated questions. Your answers will be evaluated by our teachers and you will receive your score and detailed feedback within 72 hours of taking the test.
During the last week we will work with you on the Writing section. As in the previous weeks we will start with a brief explanation of the integrated and independent essays. You will see example essays which are scored 5, 4, and 3, and corresponding feedback from our teachers.
Each day youwill have the chance to write essays - 5 integrated and 5 independent - as well as review an example of the tasks with relevant feedback.
On the last day of the fourth week you will take a full Writing section test, which will consist of 1 integrated and 1 independent essays. Your answers will be evaluated by our teachers and you will receive your score and detailed feedback within 72hours of taking the test.
On the last day of the course, the student will take a full test, which will be scored by our teachers.
Our teachers have more than 10 years of experience in TOEFL teaching and theirs assessment of your TOEFL Speaking and TOEFL Writing answers complies with the ETS Test-scoring rubrics. The feedback that you will receive not only will describe the problems, but also will provide recommendations and correction of the errors. For the TOEFL Reading and TOEFL Listening sectionswe provide an explanation of each answer choice.
Below, you will find an outline of the criteria we use for scoring TOEFL Speaking and TOEFL Writing and sample score reports for both sections.
i-Courses Online TOEFL Course is active for 3 months after being purchased. When the course expires you will only have an option to review your results but not to review the course itself.
