TOEFL for Pharmacists

origin: TOEFL for Pharmacists (http://strictlyenglishusa.com)

WHY TOEFL?

Many national pharmacy accreditation boards require that pharmacists get a score of 89 on the iBT, which is almost never a problem for these test takers. Unfortunately, though, pharmacy boards require minimum sub-scores as well (Reading 21, Listening 18, Speaking 26, Writing 24) and most pharmacist find it difficult to impossible to achieve these scores no matter how hard they study.

A SPEAKING SCORE OF 26 NEEDS ACCENT MODIFICATION

Having stand-ins take public exams is almost unheard of among local students, the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority said.

This comes after three mainlanders last week got 10 months in jail each for using doctored passports to sit the TOEFL examination at a Lai King test center.

The lone local case of such cheating was recorded in 2006, the authority said, voicing confidence in its deterrent measures.

Not only are students' ...

Only there was this slightest problem. She did not understand a word in the book nor the lines of her favorite ...

When it comes to learning how to read in English, many future TOEFL Test takers often analyze each and every word for meaning.
They break down the word into its roots, and translate what each part of it means.  They look for a relationship between the words in their native language to that of English.  And finally, they use the word to make sense of the sentence, much like how one places the last jigsaw piece in place to finish the puzzle.
As a TOEFL prep coach, I understand that this is a ...
