Concentration during the test

I really cannot concentrate when I take the iBT TOEFL test, as my previous test was unacceptable. What should I do?

Hi, ...

Hi,
we can give you some ideas, but you will have to work out which works for you yourself
1) Focus on the task/questions at hand, do not think of previous tasks, questions - once you've done them, don't think about them, because that your affect your concentration.
2) Take notes - taking notes keeps you focused.
3) Whenever you feel you are getting distracted, just stop for a second, close your eyes and breathe - this should get you back on track.
4) Get a lot of sleep before the test - you need to have had enough rest to expect your body and mind perform well
5) Do not do anything that is not your routine. For example, if you usually have coffee, tea, energy drinks, do it before the test as well, but if you don't usually do that, don't experiment before the test, because that could have the opposite effect.
6) Do practice tests - the more practice you have, the more confident you will get! Confidence is something that will help you calm down, trust your abilities and knowledge and go through the test successfully.
