The first of three regional meetings for members of the ETS Preferred Network (EPN) took place April 2–5 in Bratislava, Slovakia. More than 60 ETS, ETS Global B.V. and ETS Preferred Network (EPN) members representing 26 countries and 30 different organizations gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bratislava for the three-day event.
 This year’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regional meeting, with a theme of “Shared Knowledge, Global Reach,” provided those who support and sell ETS products and services in the EMEA region an opportunity to receive information on company objectives, products and best practices.
 The meeting was held in Bratislava, Slovakia as an effort to drive awareness to Eastern Europe, a growing area for the sale and representation of ETS products. A new crop of faces from Eastern Europe and the Middle East were present, bringing along a fresh perspective for brand expansion and growth. ETS and ETS Global B.V. have been working very closely in order to raise awareness of key ETS brands in emerging markets.
 “Our collaborative efforts with our global partners help to promote healthy, sustainable growth of English-language assessments in key markets worldwide,” said David Hunt, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Global Division and Chairman of the Board of ETS Global B.V. “Feedback we are able to gather from discussions is extremely helpful in determining market needs and in identifying future opportunities for growth.”
 In light of current economic and political challenges throughout the EMEA region, EPN members met to discuss product growth and strategies for 2012. Product updates included the introduction of the TOEFL® Family of Product as an integrative approach into academic assessments through learning, preparation and testing, and on key aspects of TOEIC® and TOEFL® test marketing and branding. Beginning with introductions by the global partners, workshops delved into market needs, business models and best practices. Presentations by representatives from Edusoft and MyCollegei, ETS’ latest acquisitions, provided an introduction to their respective products English Discovery Online, a comprehensive interactive e-Learning platform and LikeLive, a versatile video interviewing platform. 
 As a result of the extremely prominent win with United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) last year, there has been a push to ensure the best practices of test administration and security in the EMEA region. ETS Global B.V. is able to manage each of its partners in such a way that a coherent picture is presented about the complete portfolio of ETS’ English-language learning products and services, including the recently acquired Edusoft and LikeLive technologies.
 “These network meetings offer unique opportunities for ETS and ETS Global B.V. management to meet with partners and better understand the approaches to the assessment market in the region,” said Zoubir Yazid, Managing Director of ETS Global B.V. “The meetings also serve as an opportunity to strategize ETS and ETS Global B.V.’s social mission.”
 At the end of the event, Hunt and Yazid thanked ETS Global B.V., local business consultants, EPN participation and the ETS Marketing and Channel teams in Princeton for ensuring a successful event.
 ETS representatives will head next to the Latin America Regional Meeting San Jose, Costa Rica in May and to the Asia Pacific Regional Meetings in Shanghai, China in June to discuss growing interest in English-language learning in those regions.
